UNIT 1-Total Environmental Health and Safety Management Since risk cannot be reduced to zero, the as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP) concept is often applied. How can this concept be used to determine acceptable levels of risk? What might be some pitfalls to applying this concept? Your response must be at least 75 words in length. Selecte d Answer: An inverted triangle is used to indicate the ALARP concept. The risk levels range between 1-4 with four being the greatest risk located at the top of the triangle. The one would be located at the bottom of the triangle with 1 representing the lowest risk. One major problem is this concept is not concrete or black and white. Depending on the process, procedure, finance, etc each company will develop their own view of what APARP is. This approach will hurt consistency between companies. Companies will create a Risk level according to how they view ALARP. Discuss what you would consider as the one most significant roadblock companies are likely to face in implementing the ANSI/AIHA Z10 standards in a typical manufacturing organization. What steps might the company consider to overcome this roadblock? Your response must be at least 75 words in length.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
