Scarrlee Porter 1. Plot the data from Table 6.2 in a graph using Excel. There are a variety of graphs that can be used so think about what type would be most appropriate in communicating the findings of this investigation. Refer to the bottom of the page 2. What gas did the air pockets contain? How is the time it takes for all the disks to float related to the rate of photosynthesis? The gas is carbon dioxide. The time it takes to float to the top is related to the rate of photosynthesis, because the leaves float quicker when exposed to a different light color. 3. a. What was the purpose of the sodium bicarbonate solution? It forms bicarbonate ion, and some of them turn into dissolved carbon dioxide. 4. a. Which color(s) produced the highest rate of photosynthesis? Which color(s) produced the lowest rate of photosynthesis? Green (1371 seconds), Blue (1065 sec), red (587.7 sec), and clear (308.833 sec) (fastest to slowest) b. How do pigments play a role in the change of the rate of photosynthesis depending on the color of light? Different wavelength energies.
