Raymond Menna Talks to Teachers on Psychology EDU-115 Professor Vinski The book Talks to Teachers on Psychology discusses several elements that are applicable in today's classroom setup. Psychology and teaching art are elements crucial to the teaching model applied to modern teaching practice. According to the book, psychology is a science that analyzes the human mind; however, teachers cannot rely on it develop programs, schemes, and methods of instruction used in today's classroom. Today, teaching is seen as art, while psychology as a science, and as known, science does not generate arts directly. Therefore, understanding psychology does not guarantee teachers to be perfect. It is ideal to conclude that, although understanding psychology is important, teachers should not assume psychology will practically help them in teaching. Secondly, creating interest in the subject under discussion is vital in teaching. For the students to grasp content from what is taught, the teacher needs to make the subject under discussion interesting enough. The teacher can associate an object that is not interesting with an interesting object. Through this, the two associated objects grow together as the interesting object sheds quality over the other. Students drive attention to interesting content, and therefore, interest is an element crucial in today’s teaching. Creating attention is inevitable when the teachers want to drive content into the student’s minds. Interest naturally treats attention, and therefore, any
