Rodney WarrenEnglish IV19 August 2019Period 2Morality V. ImmoralityTaking a stand is what really counts.“To love our neighbor as ourselves is such a truth forregulating human society, that by that alone one might determine all the cases in social morality.”(Locke) Morality is something everyone has a sense of, it may not be the most logical but it’s instinctual. Beowulf wasn’t the most logical person in most of his decisions but, did that really matter to him in the end? The question of what counts more “winning or standing tall?” is a question debated on for many years. Though in this case, the Prince of the Geats strongly desires to stand tall at all costs.“Fate will unwind as it must,”(282) says Beowulf, he never denied the quest of slaying the beast; Beowulf persisted even when his body and character began to decline. When he fights Grendel he is young, he faces grendel with no clothing or weapon and ends up successful in claiming Grendel's arm as a trophy. “No Dane doubted his victory”.(405) sings the bard, although honestly I highly doubt this because it makes no sense. The writer made this event

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
