Team 2AR income tax Hi my name is Karla Cheshire and this is my partner Connor Ringvelski and our resolution is that the United States’ Income Tax Policy Should be significantly changed. (We are pleased the Negative team accepts our definitions, or most of them) Terms: (if any disagree) A. Income-a gain or recurrent benefit usually measured in money that derives from capital or labor (Merriam-Webster.com) B. Tax-an amount of money that a government requires people to pay according to their income, the value of their property, etc., and that is used to pay for the things done by the government (Merriam-Webster.com) C. Income tax-a tax paid on the money that a person or business receives as income (Merraim-Webster.com) D. Policy-a definite course of action adopted for the sake of expediency, or facility (dictionary.com) E. Significantly-having or expressing a meaning; of consequence (dictionary.com) F. Changed-to become altered or modified (dictionary.com) G. Repeal-to rescind or annul by authoritative act (Merriam-Webster) Our definitions are superior because… they come from dictionary.com and Merriam Webster dictionary, two well-known and reliable dictionaries Harms (we have some serious problems harming our country) A. Income tax discourages high income Rather than promoting work and savings the tax system punishes positive behavior (Tax Policy Center, 44, why tax and transfer programs often discourage work and savings, February 14, 2013) Income, tax discourages working more with the high tax brackets for high income earners, this does not promote working harder and more often.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
