Assignment 1 SEP 18, 2018 1. What is quality? How does your company interpret the term: 'quality'? The term quality is defined as a service offered to customers that meets and exceeds their expectations. Quality is typically defined through the customer eyes as there are a variety of factors that influence it. Quality is the most important thing in every organization. “No quality means No organization”. Quality is different for different industry. Quality cannot be described in a sentence it is so deep and wide. In general, it can be defined as degree of customer satisfaction. The customer expects few things from a company’s product or service for the amount they pay. For example, if a customer is purchasing a vehicle there are a number of factors, they may consider such as interaction, service, and knowledge of the employees assisting them, selection of the vehicles to choose from, price and condition of the vehicles, etc. The end result and product received for the customer is important in gauging quality. However, quality is not simply for customers but also for employees such as project managers judge and expect quality work from their employees and as such quality is a dynamic state that encompasses a multitude of aspects including people, services, environment, processes, and products which at least meet and should exceed expectations. My company is manufacturing cookies so quality for my company is to provide quality food to the customers so that they will be safe and will not have any problems even after eating our company’s cookies. To maintain the quality in my company I will hand over the responsibility to the quality engineers who will be looking to meet the standards from the initial to final stage .The engineers must test for quality in few major stages like testing the raw materials, testing the manufacturing process, testing the end product of the cookie. If any one of the standards is not met, they must be sent into the trash. There should be no compromise. The better quality of cookies my company makes the better sales will I have which brings better profits to my company.
