The Dangerous Potential of Technology
Throughout human history, technology has become so advanced that it may become too
advanced. A search bar has put a world of information at our fingertips. The technology of the
future is exciting, yet scary, to think about. Technology is changing society more for the better by
making research that much easier, but it definitely has its setbacks. Technology can be used in
great ways. Unfortunately, there are more negative impacts on today's society than you may
think.
In the essay “ From Hiroshima Diary,” by Michihiko Hachiya, technology is used in a
horrific way. The United States decided to drop the world’s first atomic bombs on two Japanese
cities: Hiroshima first, on August 6, 1945, and Nagasaki three days later. World War II would
end, and the Cold War soon begin. New frontiers of science were opening, along with new and
frightening moral questions. The bombings portray more of a negative impact than a positive one
on the society of Hiroshima in 1945. Eventually, these bombs could lead to the world being
destroyed. There need to be limits to how out of control these devices can be.
Technology can affect the way we see things. Sensory dynamism has to do with our
perception. When you look out of a window, you become aware of millions of variances.
Variances are color, perspective, sound, feeling, and many others. But when you gaze at an iPad,
