Destiny Epps November 5, 2019 Participation 5 WHAT: Fed Up is a documentary about the harmful effects of the food industry, specifically the American food industry. The filmmaker, writer, and producer Stephanie Soechtig, directs the film on the causes of obesity in the US, especially in children. This is done by conducting multiple interviews with families. In these interviews, the teens express how their self-esteem was very low and had a give up attitude. We also saw how being overweight altered their ability to live a healthy, fulfilling life. These interviews provided evidence that the large amount of sugar in processed foods are the main source to this epidemic. A processed food is anything that is not created from ingredients in their natural state. Depending on what your diet is, your body will store the lipids and your metabolic rate will alter itself. This root of the problem is that the rate of sugar in food products are overlooked by the government.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
