Name: Date: Practicing Narrative Writing I am tired. I’m so very tired. The world is in a constant state of destruction and suffering. My husband is gone, and I just don’t think that I can go on without him. I can’t stop though, my children need me, my daughter is ill and my son is starving. So, I’m forced to continue on, numb, moving like a robot, to the rest of the world. I go throughout the days going through the motions of cooking, cleaning, and caring, the decrepit house where we live is held together by nothing, and all of the furniture is threadbare. The only emotion I ever feel is fear or worry, mainly for my children. My sweet little girl is always sick, her skin in pale and grey, her eyes are dull, and she has become stick-like, bones jutting out awkwardly at her joints. She’s so weak and all she has the strength to do is sleep or cry out to me in hunger and pain. My Winston is a strong boy, but he is also suffering. He’s always so hungry, and he uses up all his energy with the other boys, combing through garbage cans, searching for scraps, he doesn’t yet understand that we all need food too, he goes to bed most nights starving like the rest of us. I do my best to give him all the food he needs, but his sister needs to eat too, I try to eat as little as possible, so as to give them more food to share.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
