The job posting that I researched for is in the field of Foreign Language, in the specific field of being a translator/interpreter. One job posting that I took a look at on Handshake was for a bilingual Japanese translator in the Ann Arbor area. From the job description, it entailed translating books, manuals, and providing a translation for certain procedures. Another aspect of the job entailed working to continually improve the translation system and to also support the upgrade of terminology in various departments. The job interests me for the simple fact that it relates to my major for one, and that language is something that has caught my interest as a whole since it involves so many different aspects to make words and sentences happen. With having a degree and the knowhow in this certain type of field, it opens up options that a lot of people do not have with traditional degrees and professions. I can grasp a few of the things I would be doing in this line of work would be working with different people to discuss how certain things are translated and the deadlines to have them. That, and using technology to make the translation easier. Based on my own personal success plan, I feel that I am very qualified for this position because of the certain ideals and skills that I would have coming in. I have patience, which is a skill that is needed to translate documents and look through books and manuals to see the most effective way to translate. Also being a proficient person needs to have a good work ethic to keep at the job, with also a creative personality to help keep things relevant and bring new ideas to the table....
