TAL 627: BOOK REPORT GUIDE A: ORAL PRESENTATION Content a) The main purpose of the oral group presentation is to inform and engage your classmates about the book you have read and to stimulate their thinking on how they can apply the book’s lessons to their teaching. b) The content should also make explicit connections to relevant key concepts discussed so far in the course. You don’t have to take time to explain the concepts over again, but use appropriate language to show that you have internalized these concepts. c) Be sure to engage and respond to any opposing arguments or alternative interpretations of your points Presentation Style and Organization The presentation should include a power-point or other platform (“Nearpod”, Prezi, etc.) and should display thoughtful organization in terms of a logical flow of content, clarity of expression, and a reasonable balance of participation among group members. For purposes of class engagement, be sure to include an activity that specifically engages the class around the chapter that you had them read. In
