E s p y | 1In The Education of Cyrus, Cyrus himself is involved in two separate trials. In thefirst, he is the judge of the case. In the second, he is said to be the judge, but he acts more like an prosecutor. Both trials happened at different points in Cyrus’ life Meaning they did not come one after another or within a year, rather, one happened while Cyrus was but a child, and the other when he was commander of an army, so he was matured. The main reason of using these trials is to show the change in Cyrus’ outlook on justice. It canalso be believed that Xenophon put these trials for two main reasons; to show that justice is interpreted differently throughout the world and to show how cunning Cyrus is in two separate occasions. In Persia, the boys who go to school spend their time learning justice., along with their letters. The leaders of the kids spend their time judging cases like the men do. They also tend to stay busy due to,” boys also accuse each other of theft, robbery, violence, deceit, calumny, and other such things as are likely,” (Book I, chapter II, section VI).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
