2 Introduction The nonverbal dimensions that we have been learning about are very interesting. These dimensions can be seen in many different ways here in the United States. The nonverbal dimensions can also be seen in other cultures. It is interesting to see how these nonverbal dimensions are seen throughout different cultures. Nonverbal Dimensions in the United States The dimension of appearance is easy to see in the US. Here in the United States people are very concerned with their appearances. We get tattoos, try out diets, change our hair, and we even spend a lot of money on clothes that we think are stylish. We tend to be vain in many ways. Next our textbook states that “Posture can be a sign of whether people are paying attention, the level of status in the encounter, if people are friends or strangers, if they like or dislike each other, and it can provide a variety of other information about the relationship.” (Samovar, P.309) In the US I
