In the novel The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn Pap (Huck's Father) comes back after ditching Huck for a year and it is because he wants the fortune of money Huck found in the previous book The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer . For example where he comes back and confronts Huck for the first time after a year of not seeing him, “...Then I turned around and there he was. I used to be scared of him all the time. He tanned me so much...”(18). This quote reveals the story between Huck and his father. Where he would always get beat by his father. But now Huck isn't scared of him anymore. This quote reveals a really important part in the story because it's where Pap kidnaps Huck. This is because Pap knew he would lose the trial to get custody of huck. So he decided to kidnapped Huck. This is meaningful because it's a part where Huck really finds out who is father is what he means to him. Pap shows his true colors to everyone and that cost him the custody of Huck which is for the better because he would have just taken the money and left Huck behind again....
