The Law of Contracts and the Uniform Commercial Code, Third Edition (West Publishing 2012)Case Opinions as assigned by InstructorCOURSE REQUIREMENTSObjectives: To provide students with the knowledge and skills to define and evaluate contract law for application to specific situations. Goal is for students to obtain an understanding of contractual terms and uses in the legal field.** Please note that there will be several films shown during the class period highlighting contractual situations for class discussion. It is the responsibility of the student to be familiar with the film content either as seen during the scheduled class or on his/her own in the event that the student does not attend the scheduled film viewing.Grading:This course will be based upon a 200 point scale comprised of:1)First Quiz totaling 40 pointsscheduled for Thursday, September 19, 20192)Second Quiz totaling 50 pointsscheduled for Thursday, October 10, 2019.3)Third Quiz totaling 40 pointsscheduled for Thursday, November 7, 20194)Final Exam totaling 40 pointsscheduled for Tuesday, December 5, 2019from 8:00:50 p.m.5)Class Assignment totaling 30 pointsas further described herein below.

Scale: A: 180-200 points; B: 160-179 points C: 140-159 points; D: 120-139; F: below120 points5) Attendance: Attendance is mandatory for this course and will be taken at the beginning of each class period. Class attendance will be reported to the UCF Registrar for attendance through August 30, 2019 for financial aid purposes. Arriving late to or leaving early from class will constitute an absence. Students who have 1 absence or less will be rewarded with 5 additional points towards their final grade in the course.Students are expected to have read, prior to class, the reading to be discussed for that day’s lesson, to have reflected on the material and to be prepared to answer questionsand discuss any topic in the readings. If a student anticipates not satisfying a course requirement, the student shall be obligated to notify the instructor prior to the requirementdate. The earlier the notice, the more likely satisfactory arrangements can be made.
