IWYI Do, We Do, You DoThe I Do, We Do, You Do (IWY) method is a common practice for educators to use wheninstructing students. With this method, the educator begins by delivering content or information, which is the “I Do” phase. As the lesson progresses, instructions shift to having students processes activities, with the teacher prompting knowledge from the students. This is known as the “We Do” phase. Nearing the end, students begin to rely on their own knowledge to complete the assignment or task, which is known as the “You Do” phase. Supports Introduction of New Literacy ConceptsThe IWY model supports the introduction of new literacy concepts because of the way this method progresses. This model demonstrates how educators should explicitly teach and encourage each individual student before expecting students to complete any task or assignment on their own. This method is laid out in a simple manner, which allows every educator to aid in the instruction of every student. The IWY method is also easy to adapt and allows teachers to better communicate with students by explicitly instructing each student with new literacy concepts (Killian, 2017).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
