IntroductionDistillation is the process of separating a mixture into two liquids; the process itself relies on twoprinciples vaporization and condensation, as well as the two liquids having different boilingpoints.1Boiling point is characterized as the temperature when the vapor pressure of a liquidequals the pressure of a surrounding atmosphere. There are different types of distillation: simpleand fractional. In simple distillation, a mixture is boiled, and the vapor condenses into a separatecontainer, with the condensed liquid being the one with the lowest boiling point.2In order for thisprocess to be successful the mixture should be composed of liquids that boiling points have a 50C difference.3Fractional distillation has the same process as simple distillation, but insteadremoves the liquid with the higher boiling point and is better at distillation especially liquidswith similar boiling points.Simple DistillationThe distillation apparatus should be assembled by: placing the open end of the round bottomflask to the rubber connector, and adding a boiling chip. Connect connector rod to a ring stand
