Circadian rhythm cycles control our sleeping schedules. Humans make their own circadian rhythm cycles. These rhythms usually have similar time schedules and have a stronger effect early in the morning and after lunch. The reason people research circadian rhythms so scientists can gain an insight on treatments for sleep disorders, mental health disorders, jet lag, obesity, and other health problems. (NIH Staff, 2017) Breaking your circadian rhythm will make it harder to pay attention. There are two types of Circadian rhythms one is controlled with light and one that is controlled by temperature. One theory suggests that the circadian rhythm is controlled by light. The book follows this theory more than the next theory. The body produces melatonin when its nighttime. (NIH Staff, 2017) Therefore, when a daylight saving happens you are more tired because of the time difference messes with the circadian rhythm.
