Knowledge can be
defined as both the
facts and experiences
known by a person.
Knowledge workers
are those who work
with information and
generate information
as a product.
Drucker defined
knowledge workers as
high-level workers
who apply theoretical
and analytical
knowledge, acquired
through formal
training to develop
products and services.

NURSING
INFORMATICS
Can be defined as a specialty that integrates
nursing science, computer science, and
information science to manage and communicate
data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in
nursing practice (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2017).
Nurses need information to care for patients safely.
This information is used to make decisions
efficiently to improve patient care outcomes.
Is essentially applied science versus a practical
sense.
