Καλημέρα(Good Morning), my name is Antonios Constantinofou. I was born in Mount Argaeus, Constantinople, under Turkish rule, where us Greeks were discriminated greatly. It was late 1892. My family; Dimitris, my little brother, Eleni, my mother, Panagiotis, my father, and Nikolas, my Papou(Grandfather). We all had to work under a mean Turkish man named Seryan Önzöviz, who finally paid us enough after 5 years for a voyage to the grand land I have heard in so many stories called America. The date was December 3, 1892. We had just boarded the large vessel and headed to where we would be staying for a while, the steerage. Unfortunately, it was all we could afford, but we were glad to be out of the vicinity of those cruel Turks. I brought as many clothes I could bring, and I had this one story I wrote called Αμερική, or America. It was very relating to my journey and I used most of my time to write it at the desk by my little cot. My father would always talk about something called “Americanization
