Write an essay comparing and contrasting the responses to traditional ethical theories offered by feminist ethics and ethical relativism. Start by discussing what each denies about the tradition and why and what each seeks to keep from the tradition and why. Highlight the differences between these two approaches that are most significant from the perspective of ethical theory. Then, think of an example where the two approaches tell us very different things about what ethics requires. Discuss the example, say which view seems more plausible to you, and explain your answer.Feminist ethics responds to traditional ethical theories by focusing on women’s viewpoints. Traditional ethics tends to examine morality from a male oriented perspective. To begin with, all of the great philosophers who authored the various theories were men living in male-dominated societies. Aristotle said, “the male is by nature superior, and the female inferior; the one rules, and the other is ruled.” Kant stated, “her philosophy is not to reason, but to sense.” This line of
