Specifically, the attempt to have President Trump turn over his tax returns for the past eight years. The event and the stories around the Trump impeachment inquiry are currently on almost every major media outlet. The specific storyregarding the dismissal of Trump’s lawsuit over his tax returns is on several outlets, including CNN and Fox News. The Information PresentedCNN reported the story with the headline “Appeals court deals blow to Trump in tax return case” which immediately gives the impression that Trump has been defeated. The article itself describes the situation and how President Trump sued the Manhattan District Attorney to block a subpoena which was requesting that the Present release the last 8 years of his tax returns. The article explains the background, and why the Judge ruled to dismiss the case with direct quotes from the judge and Trump’s attorney. The CNN article is written extremely strategical, as the references are credible since they are direct quotes from Trump’s attorney, and the appeals court Judge. Fox News kept the story short, but had a much different description and feel. While Fox News reports the same end message about the dismissal of the law suit, the reporter states that the ruling was only dismissed due to a jurisdiction issue, and that the case would have to be tried at a different court jurisdiction.
