Identify and discuss the elements of informed consent.
When seeking informed consent, the subjects should notify and educated about the following:
1.
Ensure the subjects are informed that the subjects are well informed that the study is for
research purposes; clearly state the purpose of conducting the research, the duration of the
study and the procedures and protocols which are to be followed.
2.
Clearly explain to the subjects / participants any possible risks or discomforts that may occur.
3.
Ensure a detailed description of the benefits of the research to the subjects or to other persons
outside of the study.
4.
A disclosure of appropriate alternative procedures or courses of treatment, if any, that
might be advantageous to the subject.
5.
Describe the extent, if any, to which confidentiality of records identifying the subject will
be maintained. And inform them if the need arises can the records be handed to a third
