As mentioned in Wong’s text, when individuals reach late adulthood, they develop either integrity or despair based upon Erikson’s theory (Wong et. al, 2015, pg. 264). Integrity is when the aging individual is at peace and has no regrets about life, whereas despair can lead to depression with feelings of fear, regretsand wanting to turn back time (Wong et. al, 2015, pg. 265). The individual must learn to adapt to their evolving life and even in the loss of a loved one, fix their eyes on Jesus. A person’s quality of live is described by the condition of their life and how they live it (Wong, 2015, pg. 286).
