Course Pre-requisites: None Course Description: The course will provide an overview of Information Technology and how it is an essential tool for today’s business environment and society in general. The course will focus on what tasks students can accomplish with information technology and what skills they can apply immediately in the workplace and at home. Students will learn to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access for solving different types of business problems. Student Learning Objectives/Outcomes Understand the importance of Information Technology and how it impacts all facets of business and society. Become familiar with Information Technology concepts and terminology. Learn how to improve personal productivity using basic MS Office software tools -- Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access. Learn how to solve business problems effectively with MS Office. Required Textbooks and Materials Text: Technology in Action custom edition, ISBN TBA Student Access Code : All students must have a Student Access Code. There is no way to circumvent the purchase of the Student Access Code for MyITLab (it will be used for student training and assessment). MyITLab (training and assessment software for Office 2007) Excel/Access Cases E-Book A link to Vangonotes - audio notes for iPods and other mp3 players to Technology in Action text.
