Time Management PlanTime management has been an important aspect of my life, both professionally and personally. To understand time management practices, I had to gain a clear picture of my goals and the time and resources involved to reach these goals. I am fortunate to work for a company that understands my role to my family but also understands my dedication to my profession. As Dahm, Glomb, Manchester, and Leroy (2015) stated, understanding how individuals allocate time when work–family conflict is high and self-regulatory resources are depleted may help employees and managers structure jobs and work time more effectively. Moving forward, understanding my big-picture goals, and implementing effective time management practices willassist me in my personal and professional life. Laying the Foundation (Goals)When setting big-picture goals for myself, I tend to make goals that can be measured andthat are realistic. My family is the inspiration and motivation behind each of my goals. The completion of each goal has a direct impact on the future direction of my family. These big-picture goals include obtaining my doctorates in business administration from Walden University, financial independence, and increase mentorship programs in inner-city communitiesaround the country.Self-Analysis The SWOT Analysis that I performed in Week 1 was a helpful way for me to recognize my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. It is beneficial to be aware of these daily factors as it relates to your goals. As Hellgren (2014) stated, the whole sequence of activities performed over a day helps us understand and analyze the contexts of everyday life. For instance, time management was in each of the four categories. Realizing how important time
management is, I have reviewed my current process and adjusted it to ensure I am managing my time wisely. Organizations utilize SWOT analysis to help them navigate difficult decisions and see where they can improve.
