In most cases, the way individuals see people is core in determining actions towards the other groups. Therefore, social interactions focus on assumed roles, people involved in the assumptions, and the environments where the acts occur. Boys Don't Cry outlines the interaction between individuals based on their categorizations on gender regarding the course. Hegemonic masculinity gets associated with negative characteristics assumed by young men in society. Therefore, practices such as aggression and violence, get linked to male behavior, as outlined in the film. Societal expectations of men, including toughness, masculinity, gender categorization, and violence alongside perceptions get illustrated in the movie. Summary of the Contents of the Film The film Boys Don't Cry is based on reality about the life of Teena Brandon, a teen who was raped and murdered on the 31st December 1993 in Nebraska. Brandon was a transgender person whose aim was escaping the limitations based on sexuality and gender in her homeland. She moved to Nebraska following physical intimidations from men, where she changed her identity to a man, Brandon Teena. However, her identity gets revealed by the friends John and Tom, who eventually raped and killed him alongside his girlfriend, Lana Tisdel (Grayburn, 2017). The story gets presented sequentially regarding the life events of Brandon from the time he went to Nebraska. The last occurrence of his death and prior actions also get described
