2CSU FIRE SAFETY AND LIFE SAVING PLANCSU Fire Safety and Life Saving Plan From the years 2009 to 2011 there is an estimated 4,000 school building fires were reported by the United States fire departments. The lead causes of school building fires were caused by three things: cooking at 42 percent, intentional means (arson) at 24 percent, and lastly heating at 10 percent (USFA, 2014). This is why fire safety education is important especially when it comes to the safety of our children. The ultimate goal of the Fire and Life Safety Education Program is to educate and provide the tools to the student body and faculty so they know how to react to fire/smoke threat to include daily actions that can limit the possibility of a fire hazard. The CSU Fire Safety and Life Saving Plan will be broken down and then outlined to specific age and grade-level categories with their corresponding primary educational focus.
