How did you find comfort in the midst of suffering? In 2009 I lost my mother to cancer, that is when I have experienced a significant period of suffering. I had so much going on in my life at the point in time. I was a newlywed, I had given birth to my firstborn, pregnant with my second child, taking care of my three younger siblings, all while caring for my mom as well. I was only twenty-two with so much on my shoulders, losing my mom was the last thing I needed. I did not know how to deal with that experience, was so confused about everything. I became angry with my mother and God because my mom left me when I needed her the most and God took her from me. I find comfort in the midst of suffering by apologizing to God and asking for help. With prayers and deep thought, I’ve come to realize God did exactly what I asked him to do. When the hospital sent my mom home and Hospices came into our home, I knew that was the end for her. I prayed and prayed for God to heal my mom, but he took her. That was his way of healing her because she is in heaven without pain and suffering. After realizing his way of healing, I was much more happy and able to move to pass my period of suffering.
