Cameron Kirby ID 10 section 5433 February 4, 2008 What a Home Means to Me A home is defined by dictionary.com as “a house, apartment, or other shelter that is the usual residence of a person, family, or household.” This is also a very near approximation of what my definition would be. To me a home is nothing more than a place you live. Sure, I lived in one of my former houses for about 15 years, but when I left, I didn’t feel like I had lost anything. In fact I was happy to move. The neighborhood was becoming rundown and the crime rate was beginning to increase. So, my family and I did the right thing and picked up our bags and moved to a new place. 3 months after that I moved off to live in the college dorms, and a year after that I moved to the

Unformatted text preview: place I am living now. I guess depending on who is describing it, I have two homes. I do, however, consider the place where my parents live to be my home. Even though I will never move back in with my parents, I still consider it home. It is, if one were to think about it, quite weird that I would consider the one place I will not live as my home. I am sure that some may consider church their home and others may even consider school their home. So I suppose that it truly does not matter where your home is geographically, it only matters where it is in your head. And that is what a home means to me....
