Main question post-Hi everyone,The disease condition selected for discussion is Parkinson’s disease. This is the second most common age-related neuro degenerative disease after Alzheimer’s disease. The biggest risk factor of developing idiopathic Parkinson’s disease is aging. According to Simcox and Turnbull (2014), research reveals that about 1% of the population in UK aged 60 are affectedwith Parkinson disease which equates to over 127,000 individuals (or 500,000 individuals in USA) while in individuals aged 85, this prevalence is 5% which highlights the relation ship of advancing age and the risk of developing the disease. Huether and McCance (2017) stated that the prevalence is about 1 in 272 persons with approximately 60,000 new cases diagnosed in the united states.Potential alterations and symptomsHuether and McCance (2017) have described the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease as resting tremor, rigidity, bradykinesia/akinesia, stooped posture, dysarthria and dysphagia. These symptoms may develop alone or in combination in the initial stage but all are usually present when the disease progress. In the early stage, symptoms are usually unilateral and becomes bilateral in the later stage. Because of the insidious nature of the disease progress, it is difficult to
