Professor and Class, According to Holmes et al. (2017), “regression analysis is a statistical technique that can test the hypothesis that a variable is dependent upon one or more other variables.” A person’s BMI, which is the measure of weight relative to height, is recorded to know the people who are overweight or obese. The dependent variable is the BMI. The article I found used “ BMI as dependent variable, serum TSH quartiles, smoking status, gender, and age as independent variables” (Nyrnes, Jorde & Sundsfjord, 2005). Also, we could include the consumption of particular kind of foods since a person’s diet also reflects on their BMI. The correlation between dependent and independent variable shows the relationship between these two variables.
