Learning Environment Plan - Phase II EDF3251: Hannah Brown Developing Rules and Procedures Procedures for Developing Classroom Rules When trying to create a list of rules for my classroom I will first provide the students with a list of rules I “think” we should have. We will review them and discuss whether the class thinks they are important and why. We will discuss each rule individually and I will allow students to offer their opinions and thoughts about the rules. Then, after we have decided on the rules, we will word them in our own creative ways that are fitting for the age group in the classroom. Students are more likely to adhere to these rules knowing they had a part in not only creating them but have an understanding of the rules’ importance. Classroom Rules 1. Keep your desk clean 2. Be respectful to the school grounds 3. Walk quietly in the classroom 4. Keep hands to yourself 5. Walk quietly in the halls 6. No running in the classroom Procedures for Teaching Rule Following I will make the rules part of my morning routine. This means that as the students are settled in for the day, we will review the rules as a class. We will also discuss any previous behaviors not being followed and areas we can work on for following the rules. This will allow
