The Effects of Mindset Towards the Healing Process of Diseases and Wounds Chapter 1 Background of the study The environment of people will define who they become in the future. It will influence them in their entire life and it will also influence the people around them. So, what they see or view about a certain person, thing, relationship, and belief will affect the people around they like family, friends and lovers. Mindset is a powerful thing because it can heavily impact the outcome of your goal. According to Stanford psychologist Carol Dweck, your beliefs play a pivotal role in what you want and whether you achieve it. Dweck has found that it is your mindset that plays a significant role in determining achievement and success. It plays a critical role in how you cope with life's challenges. In school, a growth mindset can contribute to greater achievement and increased effort. When facing a problem such as trying to find a new job, people with growth mindsets show greater resilience. They are more likely to persevere in the face of setbacks while those with fixed mindsets are more liable to give up. This also applies in the medical field. The mind influences physiology in many ways from stress to sexual arousal so it has always seemed reasonable to me that it might impact health. In a way, our popular understanding about health is linked to our natural environment and history. “Placebo effect”
