SELF ASSESSMENT REFLECTION PAPER2Becoming a leader requires you to be aware of your environment and accurately reflecton your areas of improvement as well as the areas that need improvement. Throughout the fall2019 semester at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, I have taken weekly assessments thathave taught me a great deal about my personality and leadership style. They have also given mean insight into the areas that I need improvement to be a better leader.Early in this course, the results about confidence and readiness were not a surprise andseemed pretty accurate. When I came to the conflict-handling strategies in chapter 10, I wassurprised at the outcome. According to Daft (2018) there are 5 categories of conflict-handling:Dominating, Collaborating, Avoiding, Accommodating, and Compromising.According to the first question regarding the Dominating Conflict analytics, I scored a1.0, which is much lower than I was expecting. Based on that score, it states I am, “more focusedon gaining needs with little to no consideration for what the other party in the conflict needs”(Cengage). After reading the outcome of this result, it has made me think more about the way Iinteract with people and coworkers and to ensure I take the time to understand other’s needswhen a conflict arises.
