COLLEGE COMPOSITION II UNIT 6 ASSIGNMENT2College Composition II Unit 6 AssignemntIntroductionThere exist numerous controversies that surround the issuance of firearms to the mentallychallenged in the United States. There have been a considerable number of shootings that can beattributed to the possession of guns by individuals with diagnosed cases of mental defectiveness. The affected individuals of the mass killings are usually innocent, and this brings forth thequestion of whether persons with psychiatric disorders should possess firearms. A well-knownfact is that guns do not kill people; individuals are the ones who inflict harm on other humans. The individuals behind the trigger are the cause of death, and that is why the laws stipulating theissuance of firearms to the mentally defective should be either revised or overturned. The rulesspecified by the congress in the United States should arguably be stricter. This calls for adeliberation that the laws and regulations stipulating the possession and issuance of firearms tomentally unstable persons and individuals admitted in mental institutions should either be barred;better supervised; revised or overturned since the mental defectiveness may deem theseindividuals incapable of handling themselves.
