Running head: LEADERSHIP Leaders The competency outcomes I have obtained in this program will greatly improve my career. Primarily, I have obtained new and research based knowledge on language growth that I can use to my own work and share with my colleagues. The research-based knowledge will better help me to design my curriculum and assessments tools and I hope it will be as valuable for my colleagues as it is for me. The program outcome in regards to standards will be helpful in supporting me to concentrate on a backwards design approach. I will have my end objectives and standards in place first, then create curriculum and instructions that will help to take my learners to that point. The program has additionally helped me to have better knowledge of assessments and design them in a manner that will facilitate on how I understand where my learners are and what is needed to get them where they should be. The research-based articles that I read has helped me to understand how to design assessments and how to use the results to guide instruction. My work as a teacher will be reflecting an environment that is more culturally relevant because of this program. I will be incorporating more pieces of cultural literature from around the globe. Additionally, I plan to involve my students’ cultures more frequently and have their prior knowledge and experiences as better resources in my classroom. Also, as I have written on my personal contribution paper, I am planning to have greater parental participation, particularly when it is related to culture. I am looking forward to the day that I can have an event where families come to 2

Running head: LEADERSHIP school to share music, foods teach us details about their cultures. I believe this is a positive way to include the community and families demonstrate an environment that is welcoming and warm in my classroom.
