WEEK FOUR2Week Four JournalWeek Four continued where Week Three ended. Week Four involved several readings and a continuation of the Hisco simulation. Week Four was challenging and required analyzing previous decisions, reviewing potential opportunities, and making adjustments to the plan based on a variety of outcomes, phone calls, and possibilities. This week also entailed reviewing the company’s original strategy that was developed in Week One and analyzing the decisions that have been made.LearningsIn Week Four, students were required to make business decisions for Q3 for Hisco based on information that was provided in Q2’s results, a variety of dashboards, internal emails, and industry news. During Q3, students learned about a growth opportunity for Hisco that involved expanding into the European Community (EC). This expansion would cost the company $50,000 with an expected growth similar to that of Hisco’s first quarter of operations. Hisco would have an advantage in the EC because Hisco’s competitors had yet to invest anything into this expansion. During this same time, students are encouraged to make adjustments to their annual budget in order to remain within their budgetary constraints, account for any unexpected changes, adapt production plans (including changes to labor, capacity, productivity, and raw materials ordered). Additional adjustments in relation to market growth expectations, Hisco’s market share, and the reader’s selling price should also be reviewed.Market growth expectations slightly changed for Q3 with the completion of Q2. In Q2, Hisco had increased its selling price, which reduced its market share. In Q3, I decided to reduce the product’s selling price in an attempt to maintain and possibly regain some of the company’s lost market share. It is unclear if the price reduction had an impact on market share due to a
