Leaders in nursing must have the understanding that EBP and safe, quality care are interconnected, and that a culture of EBP among clinical staff will support optimal patient outcomes (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2019). Nurses with leaders that prioritize EBP will be motivated to follow the example, and will make the extra effort and time commitment to incorporate it into daily practice.
