Since there are numerous topics on the issue, it is not appropriate to repeat one that has alreadybeen mentioned unless providing new informationThere are many barriers when trying to implement evidence-based practices. According toHockenberry et al. (2007) transforming evidence-based practices into an organization takespersistence, patience, and perseverance (Mazurek-Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2019). Barriersat the institution where I work include time, management, work culture, and money. Nursingmanagers need to support their staff nurses and help provide the resources that they need toimprove patient outcomes. Nurse managers can do this by having nursing specific committees toallow them to drive change and articulate internal resources such as quality monitoringdepartments to implement evidence-based practices (Kueny, Shever, Mackin, & Titler, 2015).
