HCM 325: 2-2 Journal EntryConsumer Behavior and Drivers of Demand:Who is in the Driver’s Seat?About 5 years before my mother passed away, I noticed that she was having difficulty walking around but was adamant to living on her own and having her own independence. I spoketo her daily because I was always worried of her being on her own at her age. One day she didn’tanswer my phone call after numerous times and when I grew concerned, I went to my mother’s house and found her on the floor, she had fallen, couldn’t get up, couldn’t reach her phone and had been on the floor for about 4 hrs. After having to stay at the hospital for a few weeks she could go home and while in the hospital she made the decision to go back to her house and not come stay with me. I knew than that I had to find a solution that would work best for all of us, that’s when I purchased the life alert pendant, for her to wear always since she was so adamant tostaying alone.
