Move to Texas o Mexico allowed Americans to settle in Texas so they could Mexicanize them into Texians o Eventually the US citizens (Texians) outnumbered the Mexican citizens (Tejanos) Texas was a magnet for US citizens because of the cheap land o Texians did not convert or give up slaves and instead Texas becomes tied to the US 5. Seeds of rebellion o Faraway location of capital (Salitillo) made getting land grants a hassle
