The Ince worshipthe dark god of Valgrat, and believe Valgrat’s Star is the chosen representation of their god on the plane ofexistence. This star is a symbol of power and awe, and is currently the largest celestial body in the knownUniverse. This star has burned blood red for an estimated two-hundred thousand years, formerly being awarm yellow star, slightly larger than the average sun. The event that a star would collapse into a RedGiant of such proportions is regarded as supernatural and beyond all scientific reasoning, even accordingto those who publicly degrade the faith of the Ince.Long ago, when the star still burned with yellow flames, the Ince still existed as a species of sentientbeings. They lived as a violent and barbaric race, with clans scattered across their world entrapped withinconstant conflicts for power and glory. Their species was in no way progressive, with tyranny andcorruption being much more common than the greater good. They lived in fear of oppressive warlordsand deceitful leaders, corrupted by greed and their love for power. Unity was unheard of. The Ince haddestroyed themselves with their own ways, but were favored by Valgrat, so they received a secondchance.
