Willie Brosnan Psych 231 10/30/07 Assignment #3 b Interpersonal Attraction Proximity, in relation to attraction research, is the physical closeness between two individuals with regard to where they live, work, sit and so on. The smaller the distance between two people, the greater chance there is that they will come into contact frequently. They’re more likely to experience repeated exposure and develop mutual attraction. The closer you are to someone on a frequent basis, the more likely that you are going to consider him or her attractive and friendly. It makes complete sense but its not always the case, some people might not have an attractive personality or be physically attractive. There is also the possibility of finding someone even if there is infrequent contact. Nowadays there are so many different ways to communicate with someone, you don’t have to be anywhere near them to get to know them. We now have technology such as the Internet, cell phones, web cams and text and instant messaging. These modes of
