In Mark Haddon’s novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night- time , Christopher is a boy with autism that has trouble understanding the people around him. Chris’s parents are obviously dealing with a lot already by having a child with special needs but on top of that they go through a divorce and it complicates things further for everyone involved. Therefore, parent/child relationships are never easy or simple. To begin, Christopher has a complicated relationship with his father and it is difficult for them to understand each other.
