Upon successful completion of the course,students can: 1) use accounting terminology to communicate economic events to external stakeholders, 2) apply relevant accounting concepts and principles used to measure and report financial transactions, 3) prepare financial statements, and 4) evaluate financial statements.REQUIRED MATERIALSPhillips, Libby, Libby. It is the responsibility of the student to check regularly for new postings.COURSE ACTIVITIESAttendance:Attendance for this course is not mandatory, however, due to the nature of the material, this course moves very quickly. Large amounts of information are covered in a short period of time, so it is imperative to attend class regularly. You are expected to attend EVERY class session; participation is critical to the learning process. You must complete the study assignments before coming to class on the dates shown on the syllabus in order to make positive contributions to class discussions. You are responsible for all material covered in class, including additional topics that are not included in your text. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to get notes and information from your classmates. You should plan to spend at least three hours outside of class for each class. Any of the material in the study schedule is subject to change and will be announced in class. All students are responsible for these changes.LearnSmart Readings: Textbook reading assignments are indicated by homework due date. That is, the reading assignment listed for a given day is expected to be complete before class on the day for which the homework is to be completed, 9am. In-depth reading for conceptual understanding is required. You are responsible for ensuring your understanding of assigned topics by reading the material and asking questions in class.
