Course Outline and Objectives Macroeconomics concerns the behaviour and functioning of the economy as a whole.  This course covers  the measurement and analysis of the most important economic aggregates:  national product and its components; the balance of payments and its components; the price level; inflation; interest rates; exchange rates; unemployment rates; output growth rates; the supply of and demand for money; the government debt and deficit. It presents contemporary theories which explain the determination of these aggregates and their behaviour  over time.  In addition the course examines the potential of public policies to influence and regulate the  behaviour of these and other important macroeconomic variables. The   principal   objective   is   to   provide   you   with   a   capacity   to   understand,   analyse   and   evaluate   the
