Traditional Public Administration, New Public Management and are two of the main concepts of public administration. Tradition public administration created tremendous support of democracy in government, in the 1900s. Solidifying its foundation in government, tradition public administration responded to events such as the Great Depression, World War I and World War II. Continuing building trust in government for future challenges. Tradition public administration served as the foundation of authority and support in the many areas of government. New Public Management became a different approach to public administration scholars referred to it as the 'New Public Administration.' It was becoming a new concept out of the challenge’s government faced. “New Public Management arose out of a concern with government failures...” (Bryson, Crosby, & Bloomberg, 2014). The purpose of this detailed administrative memorandum is to bring awareness to Traditional Public Administration and New Public Management as these main concepts are heavily involved in government. This administrative memorandum will explain and contrast the roles of Traditional Public Administration, and New Public Management as these concepts are for the bettering of government, citizens, businesses, and nonprofits.
2Traditional Public Administration’s RoleTraditional Public Administration's role when it comes to government, citizens, businesses, and nonprofits focused on one central idea, which is the enhancing of the organization. Traditional public administration became a noble concept in the late 1900s, where
