1.0 General InformationMILESTONE 1: DATA REQUIREMENTS PurposeThis database specification is made with the purpose of outlining the database architecture anddesign of the Online Student Registration System for GUFI in detail. The document will provide developers an insight in meeting the client’s needs efficiently and effectively. Moreover, the document facilitates communication and understanding of the database system required to achieve success.The goal of the database system is to automatically update all the necessary information to register students for the upcoming semester. It will replace the existing GUFI databaseOutcomesBesides replacing the existing, outdated, and laborious GUFI database, this database system will provide many other useful services such as (subject to agreement with stakeholders):An efficient and detailed description of the classes under many aspects;The notification of the most overloaded class to the registrar;The possibility of creating a waiting list for the students who want to have access to someclasses with a drop-add function;A more efficient classification of the hierarchy according to which the students can register.
