The Effects of Climate changeBassam Al-NahhasEng-131Ms. Watts12/9/19Climate and global warming refers to an increase of global temperature on Earth's oceans
and atmospheres. Natural events as well as human activities are believed to be contributingto the increase in average global temperatures. The causes though, are many. Withindustrialization and new technology comes a new threat. The emission of carbon dioxideall around the planet has caused our sea levels to rise, and in result forming massivetyphoons and other natural disasters. The topic has been one that was consideredcontroversial for many years because it was thought of as a hoax, until scientists confirmedthe temperatures are rising. Scientist took it upon themselves to jumpstart a solution to thisproblem by encouraging people to invest in renewable resources such as electric vehicles, solar panels, and other electric powered items. The renewable resources would be reducingthe amounts of coal and gas needed to power houses and vehicles. People must also take itupon themselves to step up and take action as well, by doing simple things such as,showering less, recycling, and reducing the amount of their “carbon footprint”.It used to be a hoax, a myth, or a theory. But today it is known around the world as“Global Warming” also referred to as Climate change. Climate change is the increase intemperature on Earth’s oceans and atmosphere. This subject has only recently acquired muchattention among media and government institutions. However, many among the population arenot aware of how impactful the effects of climate change really are. Global Warming is an issue
that is currently faced by the entire planet, and humanity needs to quickly react in order to saveour species and our Earth. The over emission of carbon dioxide is slowly killing our planet andclogging our atmosphere. The consequences of these actions have already shown. With some ofthe hottest days ever recorded, and the biggest tsunamis to be seen, the effects of climate changehave shown to be dire. At the rate of change we are currently at, many scientists agree that ourplanet could be uninhabitable by the year 2100. Though there are many solutions to this problem, not many people are contributing to help save the planet. Climate change is currently the biggestissue the world faces, and everyone must partake in order to tackle this problem. The problemsof climate change also have solutions, and if tackled correctly, it can save millions of peoplefrom death. Climate change has always been a very controversial topic. Most people believe thatclimate change isn’t real and that no effects have shown, but in the rest of this paper, I willexplain the problems that cause climate change, the consequences, and the solutions to this diresituation. Over the last 100 years, the earth’s average global temperature has risen 1.9 degreesFahrenheit(Hansen, World of change…).Scientists from all around the nation agree that this
